About Sue

Hi!  I am Sue Holt otherwise known as "Sue-Sue".  My granddaughter Mia christened me Sue-Sue when she first started talking.  I am now Sue-Sue to eight grandchildren.  Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I am married and the mom to four children.  All of them are grown.  I am a retired high school Art teacher.  I am finally doing what I have dreamed of doing for years.  I have always loved to sew.  I have made many kid's clothes, prom dresses, wedding dresses, men's shirts, quilts and tons of other items.  I live in Chico, California.  We have dogs and horses, another hobby of mine.

In my dream job I love to create children's clothing from vintage fabric and tablecloths.  I have always loved fabric and especially vintage fabrics.  I like the thought of fabric bringing a past life story with it.  When my children were little I used recycled fabric out of necessity.  And can you believe it, now it is in vogue to reuse things!

My daughter Anna, who has been helping me lately, will now be a part of my team!  Please see her information below.

About Anna

Hello!  I'm Anna Mitchell and I am so excited to be joining Sue-Sue’s team!  I have been the lucky recipient of many Sue-Sue’s dresses over the years; after all I am one of Sue Holt’s daughters.

I’m currently a stay-at-home mom.  I support my husband and five lively children, ranging in age from two to fourteen.  Helping out at their schools (costumes for plays), helping out at our Church (costumes for plays) and keeping up with soccer in Plumas Lake, CA keeps us all very busy.

I love working with my mom on her vintage fabric projects and watching her work her magic!  I too have made many outfits for my children throughout the years, but my favorite is making Halloween costumes! I too, love recycling fabrics!  Obviously, my mom’s passion for sewing was passed on to me!  I look forward to continue working on Sue-Sues vintage style works, while bringing a little style of my own.

! I love Sue-Sue’s and I look forward to sewing for your little one!
